This trio is comprised of Derek "DJ Cut NO Slack" Drew, Cedric "C.O.(Chosen One)" Scott, and Byron "Lord Byron" Scott. Their mission is to touch the lives of kids and adults who listen to rap music, which is strongly influenced by the musings of Black Islam. They have been an influence in both mainstream and Christian music since their formation in 1985. IDOL (In Dedication of Louis) King was formed to commemorate their friend Louis King. He greatly influenced the development of their talents, but succumbed to cancer before their formation as a group. When asked to give a brief description of themselves, they came up with a short rap, "Appointed, anointed and ordained to entertain to promote some hope and to provoke your brain."
