No matter what society has to say these days––marriage matters! Marriage is one of mankind’s joys.  It was created by God, perfectly designed to bring together a man and women in an unbreakable holy union.  Adam exclaimed in utter delight at the sight of his perfectly created female helper––this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of Man (Genesis 2:23).

Marriage forms an incredible bond between a man and a woman: the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate (Mark 10:8-10).  A marriage kept in Christ will remain unbroken. When He remains in the center of their relationship the union will stay strong; becoming life time companions and closest friends (Ecclesiastes 4:12).

Many couples decide to tie the knot and get married during the pleasant summer months. Romantically speaking––love is in the air. Among natures varied blooming flowers, amid the warm sunshine of the season, outside services are greatly favored.  The wedding couple’s vows are voiced to each other before God and the many onlookers of family and friends gather to witness the couples union.

Love has blossomed in their hearts for each other. The foundation for marriage is an unselfish and unconditional love. Every couple should aspire to the Christ like love described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8: Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

Love is not a superficial fleeting feeling or a wavering emotion but a strong stable commitment–– a costly vow. The husband’s love for his wife should reach such depths that he would willingly die for her.  Any woman loved in that capacity easily yields to her husband’s leadership. Marriage is a pictured mystery; a reflection of Christ and His love for His Bride, the Church––believers in Christ who are in submission to His loving Lordship (Ephesians 5:22-33).  The Bride’s adornment of purity and holiness makes her as: fair as the moon and terrible as an army with banners––the Church in the world is a spiritual force to be reckoned with (Song of Solomon 6:10).

When children are born into this solid family unit, it provides for them a stable environment. Children thrive in a loving home where there is a mother and a father to guide them in the ways of the Lord (Genesis 1:28; Proverbs 22:6). This is God’s plan––this is God’s purpose for marriage.

This holy bond of Christian matrimony must be protected from perverseness; kept in purity––unadulterated: Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge (Hebrews 13:4).  Intimacy has no shame within the bounds of marriage and it stays perfectly protected within those confines. Anything outside of that holy union will suffer the wrath of God.  Who on earth would want to stray away from this masterpiece design?

Plenty!  The attack on marriage has been brutal. Marriage has been made a mess by many vices: societies worldliness, adultery, pornography, spousal abuse, lack of communication, neglect, divorce, selfishness, greed and the list goes on. All societies void out Biblical truth and consider marriage as just a piece of paper––meaningless.  In ignorance their alternative choice is––fornication, to live together in continual sin.

Today, marriage is no longer constituted between a man and a woman.  President Obama’s proclamation on June 1, 2016, made the entire month of June Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month. It is a political absurdity that has been shoved down our throats. It is hard enough for us adults to swallow, let alone our innocent children, who have now been thrown in the mix of a revolutionary, sexual identity crisis.

This confusion is not forward thinking but backward––a step back into the dark ages of barbaric behavior that will always be an abomination to God. Understand these sexual practices between men and men or women with women are not a natural love but a debase lust (Romans 1).

As Christians we do not hate the sinner but the sin––the most loving act is to share with them the Gospel in hopes that they would exchange the lies they have embraced for truth. Once they have heard the truth, hopefully they will be free from the lies that hold them captive in sin (Isaiah 61:1; John 8:32). Truth frees men, women and our youth to be who they were created to be in Christ. Live how God intended and designed; fulfilled and complete in Him (Colossians 2:8-10).

Our nation and the world have embraced a deceptive satanic lie; and as a result they have lost their common sense, their dignity and their morals. As Christians we should not compromise and bend to this morally bankrupt and warped society. We must stand for what is right and good––Obey God rather than man, it is our duty. Keep the crud of this world from off our homes. God created marriage––we must guard its sanctity.
